We celebrate every day excellence in the following ways:  

Celebration Assemblies 

Each week, we host celebration assemblies to spotlight pupil achievements and award pupils for a whole variety of reasons. 

Showcasing Excellence 

We celebrate pupil achievements on our Academy X account and through our parent platform: Class Dojo. This allows us to share moments of academic, creative, sporting and community success. Follow us on X @ParkJAcad to see our pupils shine. 

Academy Recognition Postcards 

Staff can nominate pupils for a postcard home for exceptional demonstrations of Care, Aspire, Succeed and explain the recognition that they deserve. 

Attendance Rewards: 

At Castleford Park Junior Academy, we place a high value on attendance because every day in school counts. Being present enables pupils to make the most of every opportunity, strengthen friendships, build confidence, and access high-quality teaching that supports both academic success and personal development. 

We strive for 100% attendance for every pupil, but we expect all pupils to maintain at least 97% attendance, which equates to no more than six days absent across the academic year. We understand that occasional absence may be necessary due to illness, but we encourage every child to attend school consistently to maximise learning, wellbeing, and personal development. 

We recognise that consistent attendance—or clear improvement—deserves to be celebrated. To encourage this, we offer a range of rewards, including: 

• Weekly class attendance certificates and extra break time for the highest-attending class 
• Weekly incentives for pupils who are improving their attendance 
• Termly attendance certificates 
• Termly prize draw to win a £50 voucher, kindly donated by The Harvester Winding Wheel at Glasshoughton 
• Individual recognition during assemblies and form time 

At the end of the year, we further celebrate pupils who demonstrate outstanding commitment to attendance, including: 

• Rewards for pupils achieving 100% attendance 
• Rewards for pupils meeting our school target of 97% attendance 
• A special bowling trip for Year 6 pupils with the best attendance across their time at CPJA 

By promoting and rewarding strong attendance, we aim to ensure every child has the best possible chance to succeed.
