As a parent of a child at the school since 2014 – as my eldest left, my youngest started – I’ve seen lots of positive changes at the school already and I’m keen to support and challenge the school and staff to continue improving to become an outstanding school. 

I have extensive experience in financial services and marketing having worked as an analyst and in product development and management. I want to use my knowledge and skills to be an effective member of a strong and dynamic Governor team, working collaboratively to ensure that all the children feel safe and happy at the school and are given the opportunity to get the best education they can. Additionally, I think it is important that the school supports their mental health and wellbeing as well as their academic achievements. 

I live in Castleford with my husband, son, and daughter. We love going to theme parks and I enjoy planning trips away.

I am a Governor at both Glasshoughton Infant Academy and Castleford Park Junior Academy. I enjoy being part of the school family and working in the community. I have been a governor at Glasshoughton Infant Academy since 2009. We are now part of the Castleford Multi Academy Trust and as governors we will continue to build a stronger and vibrant school community for the children of Castleford.

I took on the role of Governor at Castleford Park Junior Academy as I am a mother to three children living in Castleford. I strongly believe that by helping children and their families to succeed, the whole community benefits from the confident, thoughtful, skilled adults of the future.

I have worked in education for over twenty years and am currently a Headteacher of a Wakefield primary school. I have worked in a variety of school settings in my career, serving diverse communities. Prior to my current role, I worked across a multi academy trust, helping to improve standards in teaching and learning in English.

In my spare time, I enjoy long walks with my daft dog, Milo. I also love music, whether this is playing, listening, teaching or watching live in concert.

I work as a legal officer at Wakefield Council where I have worked for 2 years. I have been involved in the legal sector for 5 years following the completion of my Law Degree and then completing my masters in law. I have worked with children in various capacities for around 10 years. I have previously worked with international students at Summer Camps for 3 years as well as currently coaching athletics to young children aged 8 and upwards. Working with children has enabled me to gain an insight into working with children of different backgrounds and being able to work openly with children to allow them to reach their full potential. As a governor I will work collaboratively with the children, parents, teachers and other governors to ensure all children are given a high standard of education to enable them to reach their aspirations in the future. All children deserve an education and I want to use my knowledge and skills to ensure that children get this. 

Mr Dickinson grew up in Yorkshire and was educated at the University of Sheffield where he read Law & Criminology; he is an alumnus of Park Junior Academy having been a student from 1990-1993. Following several jobs in the logistics sector he joined the Ministry of Defence as a Civil Servant and Army Reservist from 2004.  He has led projects across the UK and Internationally with a focus on HR and Logistics.  He has been deployed in Afghanistan and during the government’s response to the Covid-19 crisis.

Now living in Castleford, he is passionate about ensuring all students experience the best education irrespective of their background and is keen to give back to the local community. He is married to Charlotte, a palliative care nurse and practice educator, and they have two infant children, Evelyn (4) and Harriet (2).

I am currently a Reception class teacher and the DT/Computing leader at Glasshoughton Infant Academy, and I am also in the process of completing my SENCo training. With 11 years of experience teaching across various schools in Castleford, I have developed a deep commitment to the local educational community. My longstanding collaboration with Castleford Park Junior School spans from my early days as a volunteer during my teaching degree to my more recent role within Castleford Academy Trust.

Additionally, I have personal ties to the school, having attended as a pupil during my junior years. I am deeply passionate about providing children with the best possible start in their education. I firmly believe that every child deserves access to an engaging and enriching curriculum, where they are supported to thrive and reach their full potential. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the governing body and use my knowledge and skills to support the continued success of Castleford Park Junior Academy.

My name is Sarah Jagger and I am a qualified primary teacher. I have taught in a Wakefield school for nearly 14 years and have taught a range of year groups across primary. During this time, I have led Science in school and across my Trust. I am passionate about teaching and learning and have pursued this in my role in school and across the Trust.  I believe that all children should have access to the best education that enables them to reach their potential.
I recognize the importance of working together as a school community to ensure that all children, parents, governors and teachers feel valued and supported along their journey in school.

I live in Castleford with my husband and two children who attend schools within the Multi Academy trust. I enjoy a range of activities in my spare time including watching rugby league, bike riding and enjoying the outdoors with my family.  

I am a proficient teacher with nine years of experience, with the privilege of being part of the reading and literacy team within school. These roles have enabled me to gain a deeper insight into the importance of collaborative efforts and teamwork in achieving academic success.
I am highly interested in the everyday running and background of the school and believe that as a school governor, I can contribute positively towards its growth and development. My passion for education has always driven me to seek a wider understanding outside my year group, which I believe would expand my skills and enable me to make better-informed decisions.

I have always been committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethics and I understand the importance of strong governance in maintaining these standards, and this is what motivates me to pursue this role.

I believe that my experience as a teacher, reading leader, and literacy team member, as well as my interest in the everyday running of the school, makes me an ideal candidate for this role. I am confident that I can bring this commitment, along with my skills and experience to the role of school governor to make a meaningful contribution to the school and I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to the well-being and development of the school.

​​​​​​​In my role as People Director at HARIBO, a family-owned business, working as part of our local community is important to me. I volunteered to be a Governor as throughout my career I have learnt many skills that I feel would be beneficial as a Governor and certainly transferrable. My experience will help me to work collaboratively with teachers and parents to ensure children receive a high standard of education. I would like to ensure that all pupils attending Castleford Park Junior Academy have access to support and education to allow them to grow and flourish to achieve their potential and ambitions for the future.

In my working life I am always striving to do the right thing and ensuring that I am making a difference. I aim to bring this to my governing role and ensure that I can positively influence and contribute to the development of excellence and achievement of not just to school but also the governing body.

I live in Methley with my husband and grown-up son and my little dog. I am a self-taught baker and enjoy creating cakes and bakes for family, friends and colleagues to enjoy.
