Testimonials

There’s something special about Castleford Park Junior Academy. It’s the sense of belonging, the warmth of the people, and the shared belief that every pupil can achieve their very best. Our academy is filled with pride, ambition, and care, a community where every day, staff and pupils work together to create something truly special: a place where everyone feels supported, inspired, and proud to belong.

Miss A Callaghan

What stood out to me from day one at CPJA was the supportive and collaborative culture. Leadership is approachable, ideas are valued, and everyone works together to help pupils succeed. I feel valued, encouraged, and proud to be part of a school where both staff and students are supported to thrive and reach their full potential.

Miss E Collinson

Two years on from completing my journey from trainee teacher to class teacher at CPJA, I have seen first-hand what makes this school such a special place. From the very beginning, I felt supported by a caring and dedicated team who want the very best for every child.

The daily interactions I have with our pupils remind me why I love teaching. It is a privilege to support them as they grow into caring individuals who show kindness and respect, aspire to reach their goals, and develop the confidence and resilience to succeed both in school and beyond.

I am proud to be part of a school community that is passionate about what it does. Seeing our children grow, achieve and celebrate their successes is incredibly rewarding, and I feel very fortunate to work alongside wonderful children, families and colleagues.

Mr A Knapp

Castleford Park Junior Academy has been at the heart of my professional journey for over a decade. I started here as a volunteer and have been fortunate to progress through a range of roles, including: Lunchtime Support Assistant, Teaching

Assistant, HLTA, Teacher and PE Lead. Throughout that time, the academy has supported and encouraged me to grow both personally and professionally.

What makes Castleford Park so special is its strong sense of community and commitment to helping every child succeed. Every day, I work alongside dedicated colleagues who share a passion for inspiring children to be confident, resilient and ambitious learners. One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is having the opportunity to make a lasting impact on pupils' lives during their four years with us, helping them grow academically, socially and emotionally while creating memories and experiences that will stay with them long after they leave.

I am proud to be part of a school that values and supports both its staff and pupils. Castleford Park Junior Academy is more than a workplace; it is a community where everyone is encouraged to achieve their full potential and be the very best they can be.

Mrs K Newton

Castleford Park Junior Academy is an inspiring place to work because it combines high expectations with genuine care. Staff collaborate closely, share ideas, and continuously look for ways to improve outcomes for pupils. The school’s values are lived out daily, creating an environment where both children and adults can thrive. I feel valued, trusted, and motivated to give my best, knowing that the work we do truly makes a difference.

Pupil Testimonial – T Hayward Year 3

At CPJA, learning is fun and enjoyable. I especially like PE because it keeps us active, and I enjoy learning about Ancient Egypt in History. I also love reading, so the new library with its wide range of books is fantastic and gives me lots of choice.

The school dinners are really tasty, and I enjoy playing on the outdoor equipment, especially the trampolines! There are also lots of exciting clubs, trips and activities that are great fun and allow us to try new things.

I enjoy being part of the Art Council because we help make decisions about the school and special events. The teachers are kind, supportive and always willing to help us. Since joining CPJA, I have made lots of friends and feel happy to be part of the school community. I am proud to follow our school rules of Ready, Respect and Safe every day and always try my best to be a positive role model.

Pupil Testimonial: S Cooper-Wright

CPJA is a fantastic school with lots of exciting opportunities for every child. There are many clubs to take part in, including Art Club, Dance Club, Football Club and Lego Club, which allow pupils to develop new skills and make new friends. We also enjoy amazing educational trips, such as visits to London, Newby Wiske and many other exciting places.

The teachers are outstanding and are always willing to give you a helping hand whenever you need support. They care about every pupil and are always there to help with any problems or concerns.

CPJA celebrates success and achievement in many ways. Pupils can earn awards such as Star of the Week, PE Star and a place in the Hall of Fame each half term. These awards help to recognise hard work, positive behaviour and personal achievements.

As a Year 6 pupil, I have loved my time at CPJA. The school has helped me grow in confidence, make great friends and create memories that I will never forget. I would highly recommend CPJA to any child looking for a happy, supportive and inspiring school.

Pupil Testimonial – D Johnson Year 4

At CPJA, the learning is fun, enjoyable and exciting. The school provides lots of fun activities, school trips and after school clubs, Dance Club is my favourite!

Whilst I have been at CPJA I have really enjoyed being part of the School Council because you get to help lots of people and be a part of decision making for the school. I have made lots of friends and the teachers can also help you make new friends, as they are kind and caring.

T Bell – Pupil Testimonial

During my time at CPJA, I have been filled with both exciting and fun memories as the school provides wonderful opportunities such as the Year 5 residential trip to Newby Hall. We slept at a magical place for 3 days and completed fun and challenging activities. My favourite ones were the giant swing and the rock climbing wall.

Currently, my kind and caring teacher is called Mrs Bramall. Everyday she puts a lot of effort into her great lessons and she makes sure we have the best year in her class. All of the teachers are like this.

In every class we have a lot of books and iPads for research and many other things that help us to do our best work.

The meals provided are tasty and nutritious, but if you are not full, everyone gets a mouthwatering dessert ranging from fruit to ice-cream! We also get 45 minutes to play and eat at lunch and 15 minutes at morning break time.

Overall I think this is the best school I could possibly be in!
