You are here: Curriculum - Our PSHCE and SRE Curriculum
We work hard to evaluate and review our PSHCE (Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education) and SRE (Sex and Relationships Education) so that it continually reflects what our children need, year on year.
We teach the content using different strategies. Sometimes, it may be through a Community of Enquiry; at other times, through assemblies; inviting visitors in; going out on trips and also through traditional lessons. We often use English and drama lessons to explore emotional literacy concepts as well, helping pupils apply their learning to relatable contexts.
We have also found a range of more modern and up to date content that reflects the diverse nature of modern Britain, that we use alongside the materials that we already have.
The NSPCC has also produced two excellent videos in the ‘love life’ section to help explain consent, personal safety and boundaries to any children who need this: https://learning.nspcc.org.uk/research-resources/schools/love-life#skip-to-content
